Rockstars!!!
Congratulations on finishing the DBB Challenge.
The 50km++ you just ran is the same course I take when I train for a race. I brought some friends to try it out (Gwapo Ariel and Maharot Ronnel Go), and they were the ones who convinced me to organize a race. Sometime in August 2013, the concept of the DBB Challenge:Rockstar Solo was born.
I decided to organize the DBB Challenge because I want to share my experience with you. It wasn’t really a race that I had in mind but a supplement to your training and preparation for the major races ahead. Hence the 50++km (around 58km) of road and trail, combined with challenges in the terrain, and then some more.

Organizing this run, I learned, is a hundred times more difficult than doing the actual run. There were a lot of things to do and prepare: designing the medal and shirts and getting suppliers, getting support for the race, planning the logistics, inviting the participants and tagging the trail/course. If the pre-race preparation was already hard, the race day itself was harder and very demanding. There were a lot of adjustments to be made mainly in logistics and posting of marshals. I am very thankful that the volunteer marshals and staff were very willing to adjust. It was also a big help that you, Rockstars, are hardcore and resilient runners, not letting any obstacle stop you from getting to the finishline.

This is my first race as organizer, and I must admit that organizing such a race is no small feat. I commend our friends and fellow runners Jovie Narcise, Atty Jonnifer Lacanlale and Jonel Mendoza for continuously organizing races that test our strength and abilities. It really is a very demanding task to organize, as demanding as training for a race, or even more.
I would like to thank Ariel Tuto Aquino, Ronnel Go, Dianne Palogan, Lao Ogerio, Fifi Runas, the volunteer marshals and staff that helped make the DBB Challenge happen. They worked really hard, especially on race day. Thank you to Ms. Cris and Mr. Leo of Berghaus for supporting the race and providing the prizes for our top runners. Thank you to Dap-ayan, for accommodating us.

A million thanks to you, ROCKSTARS, for supporting the DBB Challenge. See you in the next training!
